You can find bad reviews for 1-800-FLOWERS, but there are even more for the other comparable companies. Actually, it's surprising that all of the big online flower companies seem to have more than their share of bad reviews! This is probably in part do to the high volume of orders that leading online florists handle, as well as the fact that a large network of local florists fulfill the orders. With 1 800 flowers there seemed to be a few main complaints:

"The flowers weren't fresh." If you do order flowers, think about the time of year you're ordering them. If it's hot, or the flowers may sit outside for a few hours, it may be better to order them delivered in a vase (sometimes the vase is free). Most of the complaints involving freshness involved flowers delivered in a box via UPS or Fed Ex. Many bad reviews also noted that they didn't receive the flowers on time, or that what they received didn't look like the photo online. Like all online florists, this depends on the local florist that is responsible for the arrangement and delivery. If this is a worry, it may be best to stick with something simple like roses or tulips.

Since 1800flowers was the top pick in the reviews I've read (and since I haven't had an issue with the company) I'm still going to use them when I need to order flowers.
