    Christina Applegate Poses for PETA

    Christina Applegate

Vegetarian and animal lover Christina Applegate is encouraging holiday shoppers not to buy fur for the holidays in a revealing PETA e-card.

The Samantha Who? star, 35, tells PETA that her house “has been basically a zoo” since childhood.

Everything I have has dog hair on it, and that’s just the way it is!”

The card reads, “Cross cruelty off your shopping list by avoiding fur coats, collars, and cuffs (unless it’s fake fur of course.)”

Applegate says she turned vegetarian during lunch one day on the set of her former sitcom, Married with Children, when she was a teenager.

“[I realized] I can’t eat something that has been alive,” she said. “So I stopped, and that was it. That was the last time.”

PETA Urges K-Fed to Get Custody of the Dog(s)

According to TMZ, PETA President Presient Ingrid E. Newkirk, sent a letter to Kevin Federline, Britney Spears‘ ex to get custody of the dogs too.

We say dogs even though we haven’t seen the chihuahua she was spotted with during her time in rehab in a very very very long time.

Dita Von Teese is PETA’s Newest Pet

    Dita Von Teese for PETA

A new PETA ad features burlesque queen Dita Von Teese as the teacher of every schoolboy’s dreams: She’s cinched in by a powder-pink corset, wearing stilettos and fishnet stockings — and well aware of the effect she’s having on the apt pupil sitting at her feet.

Fresh off a campaign that made the media sit up last week and take notice when it unveiled a new public service announcement featuring a nude Alicia Silverstone, PETA’s Los Angeles office pulled back the curtain on the new ad featuring Von Teese as she teaches her ABCs — which stands for Animal Birth Control today.

The ad quotes Von Teese as saying:

Nearly 4 million dogs and cats are put to death in the U.S. every year because there are not enough good homes. You can help prevent this — always spay or neuter your animals, and if you’re considering adding a dog or cat to your family, please adopt from your local animal shelter.
