The Real Housewives of New York City & their Pets: LuAnn de Lesseps & Aston

Yesterday we brought you an exclusive interview with Jill Zarin and her dog, Ginger. Today we’ve got photos of Aston and an interview with Countess LuAnn de Lesseps.
CDW: Please refresh us about Aston. What breed is he again and how old is he now?
LuAnn: Aston is a West Highland Terrior and he’s almost 1 yr. now.
CDW: We know your son, Noel, really wanted a dog from watching the show. How’s the training going and are they bonding quite well?
LuAnn: Aston is totally clean and we love him. He’s a quick learner. We have a fabulous dog walker who also walks Bethenny’s dog, Cookie. We laugh because we call them Cookie/Monster. Aston’s nickname was Monster when he was teething.
CDW: How would you describe Aston? As a puppy I imagine he’s quite playful and sleeps a lot still at this point but what personality traits do you see in him so far?
LuAnn: Aston is a real charactor, he loves to dig up my tiny garden in the city and loves to protect his home in the Hamptons. He’s very playful and loves rubber balls the best.
CDW: Has your daughter, Victoria, come around to the name yet? What was her choice if she could have named him?
LuAnn: My daughter loves his name now. She wanted to call him Opi.
CDW: We saw from the show that you travel quite a bit with your husband and we know you travel to the Hamptons every summer, will Aston be traveling with you?
LuAnn: Aston comes to the Hamptons of course and we will take him to Europe as well. He’s part of the family!
Wow, Europe! Aston’s passport will be stamped-up like crazy before you know it!
The Real Housewives of New York City & their Pets: Jill Zarin & Ginger
Bravo unleashed their newest version of The Real Housewives by leaving Orange County and heading to New York City. Having lived in Orange County for ten years myself, I was intrigued to see how different The Real Housewives of New York City would be and boy oh boy, was it ever!
From million dollar homes in the city, daily car services and houses in the Hamptons, the women of The Real Housewives of New York City captured what upscale living is really like and we all had our favorite “housewife”.
I couldn’t help but notice of course the PETS on the show and wasn’t surprised to see that four of the five women had dogs. I reached out to see if they’d be willing to talk to CelebrityDogWatcher.com and we’ll be bringing you interviews from all four women this week starting today with Jill Zarin:
CDW: Hi Jill, thanks for taking the time to talk to us - we know you have a dog, a Chihuahua, from watching the show named Ginger. How old is she?
Jill: Ginger is four.
CDW: How’s the training going, does Ginger still see Aston, LuAnn’s dog?
Jill: No, we only got together with them that one time. Training is not good, it’s the same. You know what they say, training is only as good as the trainer and I don’t want her to not sleep with us. It’s funny because she will not let me pet her or touch when she’s sleep. It’s OK though because I accept her for who she is just like people accept me for who I am.
CDW: Is she getting along better with Allyson, your daughter?
Jill: It’s about the same with that too, some days are better than others.
CDW: Do you think Ginger will have any other siblings one day?
Jill: I’d really love to have another dog but we have a small apartment and I think it will just get messy. Ginger is house-trained and I can just see another dog in here, I’d like another one but I think we better keep it at one.
CDW: What are the hot spots that you take Ginger?
Jill: I go to Le Chien on Third avenue.
CDW: What about Ginger’s dog bed and carrier?
Jill: Ginger’s bed and carrier is by us, Zarin Fabrics. It’s not cheap but they’re really well made. I have the black carrier.
CDW: So tell me, what’s up with that nose licking thing that Ginger does?
Jill: It’s love, I think a lot of dogs do it don’t you think?
CDW: I’m not sure, I know my dog doesn’t (laughs).
Jill: It doesn’t bother me, I think it’s funny did you see they actually showed that on The Soup?
CDW: Yeah, actually I did, what did you think about it?
Jill: I loved it! I thought it was great, you can’t get mad at something like that.
CDW: Because any press is good press?
Jill: Not always but this you can’t get mad at, I loved it, someone called and told me it was on and I watched. It was great!
