Dogs are the love of my life. I have two bichons, an apricot poodle, a mutt and Apollo, my white German shepherd. Growing up, I begged my parents to let me have a dog, but they would say [in a thick Greek accent], ‘No dogs in da house. I don’t want to clean up da sheet! When you have your own house, do whatever you want.’ And I told him I’d have a whole zoo. So now I’m working on it.

Maria Menounos attended the launch party to help celebrate Amanda Byne’s new clothing line Dear from apparel store Steve & Barry’s, at Sushi Samba in New York City two nights ago.

She couldn’t resist cuddling up to these two dogs nearby.

Maria Menounos, Project Runway’s Alison Kelly (who I think is fantastic and should have made it to the final 3) and Dylan Lauren (daughter of Ralph Lauren) showed their support at the ASPCA’s Young Friends Benefit on October 12th in New York.

The above photo is from the Cesar Canine Cuisine - Doggie Dinner Party event that I posted about before but this post is to talk more about Maria’s poodle, Noel (pronounced like the French word for Christmas - “Noelle”). Maria told reporters she rescued Noel about four years ago during Christmas - hence the name, Noel! The reason Noel is in a baby sling is, Noel is a quadriplegic - her bones were attacked by an autoimmune disorder preventing her from walking. Maria said she often gets asked why she didn’t just put down Noel but she believes that as long as the dog is happy and healthy, there’s no need to put down a dog with disabilities, and she wants to raise awareness about these disabilities that dogs can have but with loving owners they can still be happy and live a healthy life.
