During Wednesday’s launch of her new fragrance, Fabulosity, it was a rare light-hearted moment for Kimora Lee Simmons, who was mourning the recent death of her 18-year-old dog, Zoe. She took to the podium at the press junket behind schedule not looking like herself and explained the delay due to a death in the family.

She shared with People magazine:

“You have to … grieve,” she said. “It’s okay to take time and say this meant something to my life and [to] honor it.”

In fact, in typical Kimora style, she may find a way to honor Zoe with bling.

“There is a company that makes diamonds out of your loved ones,” she said. “[They] make diamonds from a little of the carbon from the ash, so I might do that. I might turn her into a diamond.”

Kimora Lee Simmons appears naked alongside her Pomeranian pooch, Zoe, in the latest PETA advertisement, urging people to stop caging dogs.

She says:

You cannot just chain up an animal. It’s cruel. Dogs need to run and play.”

Campaigners for animal activists the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) have defended the designer against claims she is a hypocrite, because her fashion line still sells clothes made from rabbit fur.

A spokesperson tells the New York Daily News, “Baby Phat is working at phasing out real fur.”

Being the huge Kimora Lee Simmons fan that I am (and I have been for a longggggggggg time), I watch her reality show with much glee (and sometimes 2 and 3 times in a row - I told you, I was a huge fan.)

On her latest episode, we get a glimpse of a meeting with Kimora (and her cute daughters in tow - are their names cute or what?) meeting with the folks over at Mattel. They’re unveiling a prototype of what the Kimora inspired Barbie® will look like.

Check out these two super hot ads for Kimora’s new reality show, Life in the Fab Lane premiering August 5th on the Style Network. Those are her two gorgeous daughters, Ming and Aoki and their pomeranian, Zoe!

In other Kimora news, yesterday she launched the “Ming And Aoki” Signature Collection in New York City. We saw pics of the collection and it is STUNNING. I personally really love the look because I dress my daughter in a very Euro kinda style. I’m hooked on it already!

Finally! We found out the name of Kimora’s dog, it’s Zoe. The black Pomeranian is the pride and joy of the fashion mogul’s world and who can blame her, Zoe is adorable! The picture above is from the new Baby Phat ad for spring.
