With only 3 groomers remaining in the competition on the second season of Groomer Has It, you know it was going to get emotional! After watching and getting to know these individuals and seeing how committed they all are to making pet owners happy and making the pets feel better about themselves, while keeping them comfortable and safe, it was heartwrenching to have to say goodbye to one more!
Last week, back in the Dog House while Bill and Danielle were on the chopping block in the judge’s room, Lisa and Huber were just flummoxed as to which of the two would be clipped. It was so close and as the judges themselves admitted, it had come down to “splitting hairs”. Bill was clipped and when Danielle returned to the Dog House, the emotions were evident. Danielle, as relieved as she was to have been spared, admitted that she and Bill had failed to check each other’s work while working as a team and it may have worked out differently had they done that.Â
Water under the bridge. As the three groomers relaxed playing pool in the rec room at the Dog House, in trotted Nemo, the Messenger Dog, this week dressed in the cutest jogging pants and matching hoodie with the telling message “Lights, Camera” Action!”. The groomers were off to meet Jai at a film studio for the Quick Sniff Challenge! [click to continue…]

Cassandra Reed, nicknamed “The spunky chick” and who supplied the “bubbly” to the competition, was the eighth groomer to be clipped from Groomer Has It’s Season Two, dashing her dream to become America’s Top Groomer.
Cassandra, who came into the competition determined to prove that she “wasn’t just another pretty face”, has 5 years of grooming experience under her belt and works at The Clipper Cottage in Mogadore, Ohio, where her goal is to ultimately own her own grooming salon. I’d say she hung in the competition longer than a lot of groomers with many more years of experience, so she did herself proud!
Cassandra answered a few questions we had for her here:
CDW: First of all, we HAVE to ask you if yours and Marco’s relationship was really as antagonistic as it came across? We know there’s creative editing, but was he the biggest thorn in your side in the Dog House and the competition?
Cassandra: I wouldn’t say Marco was a thorn in my side. He’s very business-oriented and likes things done his way kinda like everyone else, but I think in our case he would just not take any suggestions I had, and would not take them into consideration. I do wish Marco luck and continued success in his businesses though.
CDW: It seemed like it was really pivotal for you to reach the “top 4″. Why was it so important for you to have made it to the “top 4″ as opposed to the “top 5″?
Cassandra:Â Â When I got into the Dog House and “sized up” my competition, I knew I could go pretty far. I wasn’t sure I could win however. I set a goal for myself and that goal was to be in the final four! I knew I could do it and I should have been. The judges told me if Lisa did not save Danielle, I would have stayed and Danielle would have gone home!! No hard feelings though. I love Lisa and Danielle. I feel really accomplished to get as far as I did, even to make it on the show was awesome! [click to continue…]

With only 4 groomers remaining, Groomer Has It is getting tougher and tougher!
Last week, Lisa had the advantage of saving either Danielle or Cassandra who were in the bottom two groomers, but had to replace that person with one of the “safe” groomers. Lisa opted to exercise that option and, believing that Danielle was the stronger groomer of the two, and knowing if she replaced her with Huber, that Huber was a much stronger groomer than Cassandra and would surely be safe; kept Danielle from being eliminated.
She still felt badly that she was essentially sending Cassandra into lala land, but she stood by her decision to save Danielle.
The angst was interrupted by the entrance of Nemo, the messenger dog; dressed this week in green tie dye!
The groomers were instructed to pair up and meet Jai for the Quick Sniff Challenge. Bill and Danielle made up one team and Lisa and Huber made up the other team.
Green was the operative word here! As the universe is encouraged to “go green”, the groomers were enlightened as to how much energy it takes to power their grooming tools by a representative from Global Inheritance, who provided them with bicycles that produced electricity by pedalling. Which is what the groomers had to do for this challenge to power up their clippers and keep them going while they were challenged to clip their shaggy dogs! So, while one team member pedalled, the other clipped as much hair off the dog as they could and the one who had clipped the most at the end of the time period, won. [click to continue…]
