A new animal airline is to take to the skies flying pampered pooches and cats between New York and Los Angeles.
Dogs and cats will travel on Pet Airways in boxed-up carriers, with flight attendants giving them toilet breaks and extra care during layovers.
The airlines slogan is ‘Pets fly in the main cabin, NOT in cargo.’
The airline, started by two Florida entrepreneurs, will offer flights from Republic Airport on Long Island, New York, to Baltimore, Chicago, Denver and L.A.
Beginning on July 14 the airline will offer flights once a week in each direction, leaving New York on a Tuesday and returning on a Thursday.
I wonder if they get champagne on the flight?Â

Music lovers aren’t the only ones who get to have fun in the Palm Springs area lately!
After last weekend’s star-studded Coachella Music Festival, another group there is putting on “Barkitecture Chicque” at the ACE Hotel in Palm Springs May 1, 2009. The event is an architectural competition that will feature stylistic and functional dwellings for DOGS!
And they’re having a live and silent auction that will include the entrant’s creations! Now, your pooch can spend it’s time in a star-worthy abode! The author of the book “Barkitecture”, Fred Albert will be there also as a judge, so the competition should be exciting.
How fun! I can’t wait to see the designs they come up with~ I know they’ll be super! I’m picturing maybe like the photo above for my pups!

True Beauty judge, Nole Marin has 2 very stylish French Bulldogs. Here, he’s seen with Lola and Mr. Ted, and even though they’re naked here, he assures us that “my dogs have a complete collection of clothing; hats, ribbons, sunglasses, sweaters and jackets. Just everything”.
Why does that not surprise us?
Nole actually has 9 dogs total; 7 of which he had to leave behind with his mom back East when he relocated from New York to California.
Like himself, he says his dogs are very chic and sophisticated like the East Coast, but they’re loving the West Coast.
I think they’re adorable, but I kinda miss seeing  his little Chihuahua, Empress Minnie.
