    Bring your pup (as long as he or she fits in a carrier) and have fun socializing and mingling while knocking back a few cocktails if you’re legal (you, not your pup).

    If you don’t have a dog, maybe you’ll find love the day before V-Day and bring home a new companion to make Valentine’s Day even sweeter.

    Here’s some celebrity-status pet jewelry for ya…Ritchie the Bulldog displayed the ultimate dog collar for Harrods annual dog fashion show Pet-a-Porter. The $1,031,115.94 USD diamond and gold collar made its debut today at Harrods department store in London.

    The collar is set with Dali web cut diamonds, which are 2cts, along with a stunning center stone at 2.23cts. The total carot weight is 14.46cts.

    This event just gets better and better! Animal Fair magazine’s Paws for Style not only showcases some snazzy apparel but they also benefit the Humane Society. A worth cause indeed.

    This year’s celebs that turned out to strut their stuff on the catwalk with a fury companion of the dog variety were Hereos Hayden Panettiere, Trading Spaces and In Touch Weekly’s designer Doug Wilson (both holding Toby), As the World Turns, Alexandra Chando, celebrity chef, Bethenny Frankel and her dog, Cookie, Miss Teen USA Katie Blair and her dog Cindy, What Not to Wear host, Stacy London and Alice, Stella Keitel (daughter of Lorraine Bracco and Harvey Keitel) and Eloise, animal activist and philanthropist Frances Hayward with her rescued dog Amigo, Prince Lorenzo Borghese, the 9th bachelor on ABC’s The Bachelor and his dog, James Bond, Richard Belzer and his dog Bebe, lifestyle expert Mar Jennings and his Miniature Schnauzer, Corky and last but not least, Court TV’s Catherine Crier and two of her five dogs, Bella and Abigail.

    The DogCatemy Awards Gala

    Get a glimpse at the most personal sides of some of the biggest, animal-loving celebrities and their furry friends at North Shore Animal League America’s DogCatemy Awards Gala at Capital in New York City on November 29th, 2006. In unscripted short movies celebrities give viewers a funny and touching look into their personal lives with their most trusted friends. The evening will include a film screening, an award ceremony and live entertainment.

    Here are just some of the short movies that are competing in the League’s DogCatemy Awards:

    -Model and TV-host Beth Ostrosky with her beloved bulldog Bianca

    -NBC’s Brian Williams and his 13 year-old League rescue dog Lucy

    -TV personality Lisa Gastineau and her daughter’s pampered Chihuahuas

    -FOX’s Jodi Applegate’s therapy dog, and you won’t believe what Jodi is wearing

    -Supermodel Kim Alexis’ house of not only cats but a few porky pigs as well

    -Actress and Producer Anna Deavere Smith and her dog Memphis in an everyday life setting

    -Queer Eye’s Jai Rodriquez’s cultured pooch

    -Child actress Hallie Kate Eisenberg and her special team of rescued dogs and cats

    -House M.D. actress Lisa Edelstein’s special relationship with her pooch

    Other celebrities submitting short movies and attending include the Barbi Twins, Comedian Victoria Jackson, CBS’s Debbye Turner and many more.

    The awards presentation will include Best Paw-Formance, Best Supporting Human, Best Ensemble Pack and Best Dogumentary.

    All proceeds from the DogCatemy Awards will support North Shore Animal League America’s mission of rescuing pets throughout the world and finding them loving homes.
