    Drew Barrymore Concerned About Weight

    …but not her weight, her dog’s weight. According to Star magazine, Flossie, a yellow lab/chow mix that at one time, saved Drew’s life when her house caught on fire in 2001, has been gaining weight over the years.

    She’s so concerned and willing to do anything to help Flossie’s health, she’s giving her an FDA approved drug for dogs to aid in weight loss called Slentrol.

    The poster for Drew Barrymore’s next starring role has just been released. Yea!!!

    In the September-due animated feature Beverly Hills Chihuahua, Drew voices the pampered, Southern California-bred pup, Chloe, who ends up lost in Mexico without any of the luxuries of a 90210 dog is used to.

    During her time down south, she finds friends in a German Shepherd named Delgado, voiced by Andy Garcia and a doting Chihuahua named Papi, played by George Lopez, as she struggles to find her way home.

    The movie will be released on September 26 and also stars Salma Hayek, Paul Rodriguez, Jamie Lee Curtis, Piper Perabo, Cheech Marin and Edward James Olmos.

    Things must be getting serious for Drew and Justin - the two are looking to adopt a dog together, a German Shepherd/yellow Labrador Retriever mix.

    Drew Barrymore Voices Pampered Chihuahua in New Movie

    Drew Barrymore has been cast as the lead voice in South of the Border, a Walt Disney Pictures comedy being directed by Raja Gosnell.

    Also lending their voices to the live-action movie in which the animals talk is a who’s who of Latino actors including Andy Garcia>, Salma Hayek, George Lopez, Cheech Marin, Paul Rodriguez, Placido Domingo, Edward James Olmos and Eddie “Piolin” Sotelo.

    “South” chronicles the adventures of a pampered Beverly Hills chihuahua named Chloe (Barrymore) accustomed to riding in a purse. While on vacation in Mexico, she gets lost and must rely on her friends to help her get back home.

    Garcia is playing a German shepherd who was kicked off the police force because he lost his sense of smell and has now given up on life. Hayek is Chloe’s spirit guide who helps her find her true heritage.

    Lopez is Papi, a macho romantic Chihuahua who will do anything for the love of Chloe. Piper Perabo was previously cast as the Chloe’s human owner searching for her lost pet.

    Barrymore, whose recent credits include “Lucky You” and “Music and Lyrics,” has done voice work in the past, having been heard in last year’s “Curious George” as well as on TV’s “Family Guy.”
