Actress Tatum O’Neal, famously blamed the drug relapse that saw her arrested for buying crack cocaine on the pain of losing her Scottish terrier, Lena.

Now O’Neal is trying to stay straight with the help of a new dog. Tatum, with no make-up and dressed scruffily in shorts and a t-shirt, is seen lovingly caring for the 13-week-old puppy near her New York apartment today. “She clearly adores the dog,” said one neighbour. “She takes such amazing care of it when she goes for walks, usually carrying it tenderly, and loves it when people come up and ask her about it.”

The name of the puppy is unknown to us at this time.
