Susan Sarandon, who always brings her dog Penny with her to movie sets was in for a surprise when the costume department decided to dress the little pup like her owner.

The Oscar winner was thrilled to find out the designers decided to dress the pooch up just like her beauty queen character in the movie. Sarandon, who plays an aging Corn Cob Queen in the film, says,

They did a really sweet thing. I had brought my little dog, who’s just a mutty dog and they made her a prom dress just like mine. She wore it to my son Jack’s pre-prom junior year dance, May of this year. It had little rhinestones and was made from the same material as my outfit in the film.

The doggie dress-up has now inspired Sarandon to start chronicling her pet’s on-set moments. She adds,

I’m now starting a scrap book with my dog with all of these pictures on different sets because it’s pretty funny.
