Before Nicole Richie started her reduced sentence (reduced down to 82 minutes that is), she dropped her two dogs off at the California Animal Hospital with Joel Madden, her boyfriend/fiance.

What do you think? Pet emergency or were they planning to house the dogs there for her sentence?
