    Deion Sanders

Ohhhhhhh boy. These are the things that are read that make you question the human race and make one hope for other intelligence on far away planets that might actually surpass what we have here on earth.

Case in point, Deion Sanders and his rant about Michael Vick’s dog-fighting allegations. Some people need to stick to doing what they do best and leave all opinions and thoughts about matters locked away tightly in their head where no one can see them, hear them or know of them and thus come to the conclusion that you are truly an idiot.

Sanders, who has been writing a weekly column for The (Fort Myers, Fla.) News-Press, his hometown newspaper, since January, turned his thoughts last week on Vick, the Atlanta Falcons quarterback facing felony conspiracy charges connected to dogfighting.

After the lovely thoughts he let flow out of him and onto printed paper, the NFL Network has asked him to stop writing about the Vick case after Sanders’ column on the subject came under fire on ESPN Radio and drew criticism from across the nation.

    Ya think?

Here’s one memorable quote from his article:

What a dog means to Vick might be a lot different than what he means to you or I. Hold on, don’t start shaking your head just yet. Listen to me. Some people kiss their dogs on the mouth. Some people let their dogs eat from their plate. Some people dress their dogs in suits more expensive than mine, if you can believe that. And some people enjoy proving they have the biggest, toughest dog on the street. You’re probably not going to believe this, but I bet Vick loves the dogs that were the biggest and the baddest. Maybe, he identified with them in some way.

    It gets better:

I believe Vick had a passion for dogfighting. I know many athletes who share his passion. The allure is the intensity and the challenge of a dog fighting to the death. It’s like ultimate fighting, but the dog doesn’t tap out when he knows he can’t win. It reminds me of when I wore a lot of jewelry back in the day because I always wanted to have the biggest chain or the biggest, baddest car. It gives you status. Can I pause for a moment to ask you a question? Who shot Darrant Williams? Remember the Denver Bronco cornerback? I’m just more concerned about bringing to justice someone who killed a human.

Deion has no business writing a column about anything other the sports he has played anymore than than I need to be dressed in a jersey, cleats and a helmet out on the football field trying to run plays.

Bringing up the past when he wore tons of jewelry isn’t a wise choice either.

i was a big fan of DS back in the day. It all changed when he started opening his mouth. He should play ball, talk about ball and read about balls. That’s it.
