Kindhearted British funnyman, Ricky Gervais, was so moved by the plight of a neighbor’s missing dog, he’s offered a $1,950 reward for the pooch’s safe return. The BBC TV “Extras” and “The Office” star spotted posters appealing for information about the pet near his London home and couldn’t resist lending a hand in the hunt.

Anxious owner Lisa Murray says, “He promised to up the reward to $1,950. He said he kept seeing the poster and feeling sad.”

A spokesman for the star confirms, “This is all true.”
