The little dog didn’t laugh when “The Little Dog Laughed” star, Julie White, was stopped by a cop for carrying her petite Pomeranian, Lulu, over the turnstile.

“Lulu’s only 51/2 pounds, and the street was so crowded that day I thought she’d get stomped on,” White told The Post’s Barbara Hoffman.

The officer told the Broadway star that dogs aren’t allowed on the subway, but White insisted that Lulu was a “very special service dog” who poses for photos for $25 a pop to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The cop wasn’t buying it. White got a $25 ticket, which she said she’ll promptly pay “before someone puts a boot on Lulu.”

Dogs are allowed in the NY subway if they are in a crate or bag.

ugh. so muggers and robbers can ride, but a little dog who does charity walk can’t be on the subway? how ridiculous.
