Bahhhhhhh! I’m so bummed I missed this! I forgot to reschedule my Tivo so this could record. Oh well, I just looked it up and it comes on again on November 29th on VH1 at 2pm EST. Don’t miss it!
Here is what VH1 has to say about the show:
Meet a very different breed of superstar: they’re covered in fur, decked out in diamond collars, and always ready to make a splash–even when they’re making. It’s today’s celebrity pet. From Paris Hilton buying her Chihuahua Tinkerbell a $300 cashmere sweater with pearls, to Hilary Swank consulting a telepathic animal communicator for her new-found dog, The Fabulous Life of Celebrity Pets is your guide to the most extravagant lifestyles of Hollywood’s elite animals.
Don’t call them house pets, because today’s celebrity pooches live in multi-million dollar mansions and spend their days wrapped in complete and utter luxury. Take Mariah Carey’s Jack Russell who flies first-class when he travels from her homes in New York and LA. And don’t forget about Rachel Hunter’s two dogs. They live in a custom-built $15,000 doghouse, made to look like a Mediterranean villa.
But when you’ve got the money why stop with the doghouse? A pet’s got to eat, and when you’re the pet of a celebrity you don’t eat from a can. Halle Berry buys Boquerones, a rare variety of white anchovies, for her cats. And at $70 bucks for 3 pounds, it sure doesn’t taste like Meow Mix! Desperate Housewives star Nicolette Sheridan’s dogs eat only raw vegetables, fresh ground meat and barley. But some celebrity pets eat so well that they’re literally a little piggish, like George Clooney’s pot-bellied pig, Max. When Max porked up and packed on the pounds he was promptly put on a strict diet and exercise program supervised by a veterinarian and a personal trainer who helps him shed 8 pounds. That’s some seriously lean meat.
And when you’re the pet of a superstar, you can bet you are strutting your stuff in style. That’s why Nicole Richie’s dogs, Foxxy Cleopatra and Honeychild, get beautified every week with body wraps and “pawdicures” at LA Dogworks in Los Angeles. And let’s not forget P. Diddy’s Maltese, Sophie, who gets a monthly hand-scissored, all-over “puppy cut,” also known as “doggy botox”.
But for today’s celebrity pet, nothing says superstar like a fabulous ride. That’s why Jessica Simpson totes her little Maltipoo, Daisy, in a $1400 Louis Vuitton designer dog carrier. And Britney Spears‘ pampered pooch, Bit Bit? She accessorizes her leash with a $100,000 diamond-encrusted collar. Sure it’s great to be a celebrity, but being a celebrity’s pet is even better.
I’m guessing the little tidbit on BitBit is old news since Kevin Federline revealed they gave away all of the dogs.
